The backstage centre branding

The Backstage Centre in Purfleet is a production and rehearsal venue built for industry-level rehearsals, training, live performance and TV production. They came to JaxPR seeking a brand refresh — their previous identity didn’t reflect the bold creativity happening inside.

Inspired by their iconic orange staircase, we developed a strong, structured logo and palette, then rolled it out across website, signage, business cards, social media and brand guidelines. We also branded their on-site café as Soundbite — a playful nod to the Backstage logo, with a bite mark worked into the identity.

The venue regularly hosts major productions, from Netflix’s Breeders and Channel 4’s Humans to music and commercial shoots for global artists and brands. For me, the project was about creating a flexible identity system — one bold enough to stand alongside household names, yet practical enough to be applied consistently across physical spaces, digital platforms, and print collateral.
